Product Description
I'm Your Baby Tonight is the third studio album by American pop/R&B singer Whitney Houston. Released in November 1990, the album peaked at #3 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart, went on to be certified 4x platinum in the United States, and spun two number-one hit singles – the title track and "All the Man That I Need", a Top 10 hit– Miracle, and a Top 20 -"My Name Is Not Susan". This album also had a Japanese version which featured the tracks "Higher Love" (Steven Winwood Remake), and "Takin a Chance". "Takin a Chance" went to No. 1 in Japan.
Following the run of this album, Houston continued to achieve widespread commercial success throughout the 1990s, venturing heavily into films—while continuing to record via their adjoining soundtrack albums. Subsequently, I'm Your Baby Tonight wouldn't be followed up with another studio album until 1998's My Love Is Your Love. Worldwide sales of I'm Your Baby Tonight stand at 12 million.[3]

[edit] Production history
With Clive Davis choosing most of the material for her previous albums, Houston was given more control this time in production and choosing producers and material. As a result, Houston took a more R&B sound featuring productions and collaborations with Babyface & LA Reid, Stevie Wonder, and Luther Vandross. The album is a mixture of uptempo rhythm new jack swing, mid-tempo R&B, and ballads. Houston arranged and co-produced on the album, including "I'm Knocking" with her tour musical director Rickey Minor, her first in that role.
[edit] Reception
The album peaked at number three on the Billboard Top 200 album charts and remained on the chart for 51 weeks. It was certified 4x platinum in the US and to date the album has sold approximately 8 million copies worldwide.[3] The first two singles "I'm Your Baby Tonight" and "All The Man That I Need" hit number one on the Hot 100 and the R&B charts. This made her the female artist with the most number ones at the time.
